Palmistry, the moniker of Benjamin Keating, is an innovative and enigmatic figure in modern pop music. Known for his minimal, reverent approach to dancehall and experimental production techniques, he first gained attention through early releases with Mixpak and his debut album, PAGAN. His work often blurs the boundaries between genres, incorporating elements like rap instrumentals, choral music, and original soundtrack samples. He has also collaborated with the elusive artist Triad God, bringing a poetic edge to his pop productions.
In 2022, Palmistry released TINKERBELL, a 16-minute conceptual piece that tells the story of a drug dealer named Tinkerbell, intertwined with Keating's own experiences in Los Angeles. This project was marked by collaborations with a range of artists, including Isabella Lovestory, Bladee, and Yung Lean, which helped to weave a textured sonic narrative.
